Rita Rivera

Rita Rivera is the CoOwner of SAGE: Senior Advisors & Guidance Experts, a senior care advisory and placement firm dedicated to helping families navigate the emotional and complex realities of aging and care transitions. She cofounded SAGE with her partner, Matt Griffin, after both served as primary caregivers for mothers diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and dementia – an experience that transformed Rita’s career into a lifelong mission of advocacy and guidance.

A Certified Assisted Living Administrator (CALA) and Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP), Rita brings more than 18 years of leadership experience in senior living and healthcare operations. She has held roles including Executive Director, Regional Director of Operations, and General Manager for national senior living organizations, leading teams across assisted living and memory care communities while gaining deep insight into the challenges faced by families.

At SAGE, Rita works one on one with families to identify the right care solutions based on medical needs, personal preferences, and financial considerations. Serving New Jersey and parts of Delaware and Pennsylvania, SAGE supports families through every stage with advice on care options, transitions, discharges, and referrals for home care, downsizing, moves, and safety modifications.

Above all, Rita believes families deserve clarity, honesty, and steady support during uncertain times. Her goal is to ensure no family feels alone while making some of life’s most important decisions.

Outside of her professional work, Rita is a proud mother of three and grandmother of two energetic boys. She loves cooking, entertaining family and friends, and whenever possible, finding a dance floor for a little Latin dancing.
